OUR BEAUTIFUL MATERIALS
At Le Tanneur, we love leather more than anything. We even have a team dedicated to uncovering the most beautiful materials, based on the desired cut and fall of the leather. We always combine the ideal leather with each of our creations.
For 120 years, we have been perfecting our approach.
Smooth, pebbled, embossed… No matter the finish, we always skillfully work with “full-grain” leather, whose surface has remained intact, natural and on which the grain is visible. It’s the most noble part of leather, and that which we choose to use.

Patent Leather
Leather title
Patent leather is a corrected grain leather to which several layers of coating are applied until the result is very glossy and has attained the perfect shade. When it is treated like this, the material gives the whole piece its uniquely shiny, characterful look as well as making it very weather-resistant.

Metallic Leather
Combining historic expertise and the crafting of modern leather goods, Le Tanneur have come up with a characteristic metallic leather. This material is made from smooth, full-grain leather to which a fine metallic dye is added. When it is treated like this, the material attracts the light and gives the piece a unique sheen.

Signature full grain leather
This is THE signature leather of our brand. A unique leather established through the know-how and expertise of our leather makers. What makes its singularity? It is made up of an infinite amount of tiny T symbols, embossed on the surface of the leather. The motif, designed by our stylists, is embossed using an exclusive mould for Le Tanneur. A precise setting between temperature and pressure allows us to control the depth of the grain, which will stay the same throughout time. This process is what allows a subtle and light T to appear. A process which delivers a finesse and resistance like no other, even to the effects of time. We are very proud of it !
