IEL is the contraction of "il" (he) and "elle" (she) in French. It is an inclusive third person neutral pronoun used in place of "he" or "she" to refer to a non-binary person who does not consider themselves to be a man or a woman. This non-gendered leather goods capsule mixing canvas and leather is an extension of the Camille line and the Love is Love capsules. In addition to providing direct financial support to Inter-LGBT, Le Tanneur is marking, in its own way, a new form of support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The "IEL" line revisits a great leather goods classic: the canvas and leather "tote" bag, which is available in two sizes (small and large). Each piece features Le Tanneur's famous signature monogram canvas, as well as a smooth tan leather trim on which the logo, coat of arms and date the Maison was created are all embossed. With its adjustable leather handles and three compartments, one of which has a zip, Le Tanneur has created one of the most practical and sturdy canvas and leather tote bags in its catalogue, testament to the brand's genuine leatherworking know-how.
The "IEL" line is also complemented by a range of modern and contemporary small leather goods to be worn around the neck: a zipped cardholder and a sliding cardholder, each in the line's colours. A "Love is Love" version is also available for all pieces in the line, sporting a bold rainbow diagonal to echo the LGBTQIA+ flag.
