"L'art du savoir" is a series of collaborations launched by Le Tanneur, dedicated to preserving craftsmanship in French art and artisanship. Here, discover three creations blending leather and ceramics—three unique pieces that lie at the intersection of everyday objects and works of art, handcrafted by Parisian designer and artisan Pia Chevalier.
Since its creation, Le Tanneur has established itself as a symbol of French artisanal excellence in the field of leather goods. With over a century of tradition and innovation, it passionately upholds a unique craftsmanship, a precious heritage passed down from generation to generation.
Many of you take the time to leave us feedback, and we want to say thank you. On our end, we make sure to read your comments carefully, and your kind words touch our hearts. We thought it would be a shame not to share our favorites, especially with those who are still hesitant to join us, so here they are.
Eléonore Grignon is one of those creative minds with whom Le Tanneur can only get alongwell. Her project "Atelier Colza" is a concentration ofcraftsmanship, kindness, and love for beautiful materials. A rich project, combining Eléonore's ideas, the skill of her mother Marie-Claude, but also afamily heritage, that of her grandmothers.
Surely, as in your home as elsewhere, very few objects can boast of keeping your jewelry and small precious items safe for years. Or even better: protecting your watches from the effects of time – quite a feat, isn’t it? Yet, it is in this very special category that you will find our leather boxes and cases.
Numerous trades and skills are involved in the creation of our leather pieces, especially for an exceptional line like Madeleine. Its bull calf leather comes from a century-old family tannery that offers some of the finest leathers in the world. Let's head to Espelette in the Southwest to learn more about the Rémy Carriat tannery and its passion for (very) beautiful materials.

Creating bags or wallets is like learning a foreign language; first, there are syllables and sounds that become more familiar; a grammar that feels more natural; and then the nuances of words that gradually allow us to feel at home. Letters and words that come to life in our Maison… and that we invite you to discover.
If Paris is one of the most visited cities in the world, it's because the French capital fascinates everyone with its streets steeped in history, its iconic locations and its secret little shops, which only the regulars know. At Le Tanneur, we've been walking the streets of Paris since 1898, and we thought it would be a good idea to compile our best locations into a little guide to keep for the duration of your stay, then pass i on to those who, like you, deserve to enjoy it.
